Nick Skaugen Bio

Nick Skaugen is an actor, writer and producer born in Epsom and based in London. His mother was Scandinavian while his father was mixed Georgian and Persian, which makes quite the cocktail! He has always been very sporty, wanting to have a go at as many sports as possible and has a professional level of horse riding while nowadays spending more time doing Jiujitsu, tennis or golf. He has always enjoyed artistic endeavours at the same time, from painting, drawing and creating comic strips as a teenager to later writing for film and theatre and acting.

In 2025 he was Longlisted in the BIFA Breakthrough Producer category for the narrative feature film "Row" which he produced, co-wrote and acted in. The film won the Best UK feature award that year at Raindance where it was also nominated in several other categories. The film has gone on to be internationally distributed, with its release in hundreds of theatres internationally and a smaller theatrical release in the UK. It is currently on numerous streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Virgin, Sky and more. "Row" was shot in the very Northern tip of Scotland and despite the majority of the film being based in the Atlantic Ocean, relied on very little VFX and was mostly shot outdoors rather than in a studio, giving it a particularly realistic and gritty feel.

Nick also produced, wrote and acted in the short film 14/2 in 2018 which received distribution in the United States and which is available on Amazon Prime. Nick has a number of films currently on his production slate, including a grounded, dystopian sci-fi drama exploring the potential impact of the converging trifecta of Climate change, the rapid progress of AI and Robotics and the resulting job losses on society called "The Oxford Comma".

As an actor, Nick has been active in both film and theatre since 2010 and performed in such venues as The Pleasance Theatre, Kings Head and The Cockpit Theatre amongst others. He has also been cast in a number of shorts, features and mini-series.
